We all lived the stereotype of 50s and 60s life in Dallas, Texas. From elementary school, through junior high, high school and beyond, we have all been friends and shared all the common experiences of our generation. And now, through the music that sealed those precious memories in our hearts, we can share them with you.

Our Musicians, the Pros Who Make Us Sound Good:

Keyboard: Andy Michlin

Andy MIchlinAndy has played all the big Las Vegas Showrooms, accompanying and as Musical Director for Legends such as Tom Jones, Liza Minnelli,  and Lou Rawls, as well as traveling the world with them as show pianist and bandleader. 

With the Louis Prima Band, Andy was one of the Sam Butera "Witnesses" and A folk music pianist with "The New Christy Minstrels". He has also recorded with Ray Wylie Hubbard.

He was nightclub act bandleader for Linda Carter following her hit series as "Wonder Woman".

In addition to venues all over the world, Andy has been a solo pianist in Las Vegas hotels such as Caesar's Palace, The MGM Grand and the Riviera.  He also can be seen around Dallas in clubs such as The Mansion.

TV credits include appearances on The Tonight Show, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Don Kirscherers Rock Concert, Dinah Shore Show and others.

Andy has always retained a  Dallas residence so he could return to his hometown when he's off the road. During those times, he has been a part of the Dallas music scene, and has a long list of Dallas credits  such as solo pianist at Lowe's Anatole, The Stoneleigh Hotel and The Mansion on Turtle Creek. 

 

Sax: Buddy Mattei:

buddy mattei, sax, Dallas Doo-WopHis career as a professional multi woodwind player has spanned over four decades. He has performed for rodeos, traveling shows and musicals including Ice Capades, Disney on Ice, Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus, The Moscow Circus, National Finals Rodeo, West Side Story, and Bye, Bye, Birdie.

His conducting credits include Hello Dolly and Damn Yankees. Locally he performs regularly with the Phares Corder Orchestra, Toney Walsh, and Dallas Doo-Wop. He also has performed with the Plano Symphony, the East Texas Symphony, and behind Bob Hope, Lou Rawls, Phyllis Diller, Roberta Flack, Natalie Cole, Sandi Patty, Jim Nabors, Rich Little, Jimmy Dean, and toured with The Temptations.

 

Drums: Mark Roberts

A civil engineer by day, Mark began playing with Dallas Doo Wop in 2011. Mark has played for a number years with local Dallas musicians such as Jack Melick, Phares Corder, Mal Fitch, Chuck Arlington, Charlie Patterson, Gary Lee, and Vicho Vincenzio, as well as with the 5th Army Band in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the Jack Melick Orchestra in 1975 and has been playing with his combo and big band for the last 40 years.

In addition to being a project manager for and shareholder of Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers since 1995, he is a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Richardson, Texas where he plays drums for the worship music team.

 

Bass: Stone Savage

Stoney Savage, Bass Player iwth Dallas Doo-WopStoney studied music at the Guild Hall School of Music and Drama in 1980 (London, England) and I was Artistic Director and Producer for The Dallas Museum of Art's Jazz Under the Stars program for 28 seasons.

He and his wife Diane, own and manage Stoney's Wine Lounge in Dallas, where he plays regularly with bands and musicians from around Dallas and around the country who regularly present live music for the venue.
